Politically Correct License Plates
Ian @ June 30, 2008 # No Comment Yet
So, North Caroline is going to give 10,000 people the opportunity to get new license plates, all because some 60 year old bitty has her panties in a knot. Seems that she objects to the letters WTF because it is an acronym for something offensive. Like she didn’t even know what it meant, but now that she does, suddenly she objects? A classic example of political correctness gone wrong. This is just a waste of taxpayer money, for what some might perceive the letters to mean, and only if they use them. So like come on, this is just plain ridiculous.

Guilt or Making a Buck?
Ian @ April 25, 2008 # No Comment Yet
The owner of the company that sold a gun to the Viriginia Tech shooter is now going to sell his guns, at cost, in order to promote better gun awareness. Least so he says, as his firm will sell guns at cost, putting more weapons of murder out on the streets, trading in on people’s fear, in order to get his fifteen minutes of fame. This is nothing but a cheap marketing ploy, to advertise a business with an already shady reputation. It is trading on tragedy, to make a profit.

No Access
Ian @ January 14, 2008 # No Comment Yet
There was an interesting article on the Globe & Mail, about the Access to Information record of the Harper Government. It would have been nice to discuss it, however, it now seems that the link to that Article requires people to PAY FOR READING IT.
I am sorry, but I find that a rather objectionable tactic [...]

Capitalizing On Fear - The Taser
Ian @ December 2, 2007 # No Comment Yet
Politicians today keep harping on how they will return society to being prosperous, to being safe. Yet in the same breathe, they tell us vulnerable we are, how unsafe we are. It is that mantra, which they use to strip us of our rights, which they use to justify their illegal actions in listening to us, in selling us on abdicating our civil rights. No leader has stepped forward, with a viable solution that doesn’t revolve around retribution, and it hasn’t worked, yet they seem intent on continuing along the same path. And we let them, because we are afraid.

Hip Waders Needed
Ian @ October 31, 2007 # No Comment Yet
The rise in fuel today is a classic example of the Oil Industry ripping off the Public. Our Politicians are uncaring or in bed with them to care. This rising cost of fuel is phony. The price of Oil on the market has been rising for weeks, months even. Hell its been at $90 for several weeks, yet the price of gas dropped. Suddenly it is up? Tell me again Stephen Harper, George Bush, how your buddies in the Oil Industry aren’t ripping us off? Tell us again how a High Loonie means greater income for Canadians, and cheaper prices?
Someone forget to tell your buddies in the Oil Industry Mr Harper?

Even In Death, Trudeau Can Beat Mulroney
Ian @ September 6, 2007 # One Comment
Brian Mulroney is attempting to personally set his legacy, or in his mind, explain it. His attacks on Trudeau show that he was then, and is now, a failure as both a Prime Minister and a Man. Trudeau can’t defend himself, nor would he stoop to Mulroney’s level to do so, but it shows you who truly has more morality and ethics. Brian Mulroney brought us GST and NAFTA and tried to divide this country, and sell it out. A job his Stephen Harper is quick to pick up on, one more reason why the Mulroney Conservatives were left with just 2 seats after his departure from Office.
Mulroney’s legacy is written. It is one of arrogance, of deceit and corruption. It is not one of ethics or morality, and it certainly isn’t one of compassion. Trudeau’s legacy is in his children, and in his ability to have united this country and give it respect in the world community. Something Brian Mulroney never did. Trudeau was both a leader, a statesmen, but above all else, he prided himself on being a Father. Brian Mulroney is just a bitter defeated hack, which we can be thankful of.

Damn Viruses
Ian @ September 3, 2007 # No Comment Yet
It is a technological age, and yet the more complicated we make things, the less we seem to understand. It boggles my mind at how complicated the software makers make things for use by blonds like me. I can’t be the only stupid person using computers, yet when you buy software, like anti virus programs, they all have instructions written for the Computer Expert. I have no idea what all this ‘geek speak’ is and you would think, that for $60 they would at least have the blasted instructions written so a person could understand them.
And don’t get me started on the assholes that write viruses, and all that other nasty stuff. God help them if I ever get my mitts on them. It is sad, that people create this shit, simply to show they can even though they can’t tell anyone. I don’t get how cruel people are becoming, and how computers are becoming more vulnerable with each passing day.

Defending our Idols
Ian @ August 26, 2007 # No Comment Yet
If anything, the case of Michael Vick goes to highlight how society attempts to make excuses for those who are Rich, Powerful, and Famous. To even think of not banning him forever, from football, only goes to highlight that there is two sets of justice. One for you and me, another for those with the juice or money to avoid paying their debt to society. Yes, he will do jail time, but why should he be allowed to come back and play in the NFL? If you are sent to prison for two or three years, is your job going to be waiting for you?
Does the bank teller who embezzles money get to go back to working at the bank? Or the stock broker that swindles you out of your money get to sell stocks again? Child molestors are released, and supposed to be kept away from kids, but we’ll let Michael Vick come back to play football, and once more influence kids, as a role model?

Why do charities think it is okay to call during dinner time? Do they feel we are more vulnerable, or is it simply that they figure we’ll be home for sure then? What ever the reason is, it is rude and gets no donation from me. Besides, I really think charities need to find volunteers to call, instead of making deals with telemarketers.

Now It’s In Feed?
Ian @ May 31, 2007 # No Comment Yet
Seems to me, that if you find out something like this whole pet food stuff, you would be on guard, to insure your own products don’t get contaminated. Guess these Feed Producers were too busy trying to cut corners, cut costs and to hell with the people who rely on them for clean feed.

Gas Prices Rising and Rising and…
Ian @ May 22, 2007 # No Comment Yet
Governments aren’t any better. They sit on their fat asses, saying it is a ‘marketplace’ problem, that will work out. BULLSHIT! It is fabricated, and the oil companies are in collusion to keep prices high. Ever notice how when prices go down, they never go down to where they were before, so that when they go up, the next downturn is nearly where the last increase was?

Don’t Buy Gas May 15
Ian @ May 13, 2007 # No Comment Yet
Send the only signal that our politicians can understand. Tell them, by uniting and NOT BUYING GAS that we, the people, are fed up with their inaction, their being in bed with the Oil Industry (see comment ‘Oil Exec & Transparent Government’). Isn’t it time we took back our country from those whose only aim is to RAPE US? Spread the word, let your local radio station know, blog it, do whatever it takes, but GET THE WORD OUT…. DO NOT BUY GAS on May 15.

Pay More, Get Less Rights
Ian @ May 13, 2007 # No Comment Yet
Government wastes enough money, surely we should be able to keep what little we earn, to waste ourselves. Not like we need the Government’s help in that end, but being forced to pay more, to get less, that’s just wrong.

Ian @ May 11, 2007 # One Comment
That would be like major department stores closing their downtown locations during Christmas. Bars closing on a Friday Night to clean the bar traps. Whoever comes up with the BULLSHIT EXCUSES needs a good trip to the woodshed. I sure as hell ain’t that stupid to buy that nonsense. NO ONE closes its production at its peak demand time.

The Deceit of Stephen Harper & Tories
Ian @ May 8, 2007 # No Comment Yet
I mean, isn’t that what we really want for our country? To have pride in our leaders and our politicians, and not worry which master they are serving better, us or the Americans? Under Harper we know we are being given second place, and if he gets a majority, will we have any rights left at all? Will he use the notwithstanding clause to overturn abortion rights? marriage rights? He might say he won’t, but I think any man who deliberately hides contrary reports from the public, who lies about it, and who uses out dated data to push his own religious views on us, isn’t above using the notwithstanding clause if he’s given the chance. Just look at how he is trying to stack the courts, to suit his religious take on issues, instead of putting Justices on the bench who will interpret the law, as it is, not as Pope Benedict or President George Bush prefers.
