Breaking News

He’s Called It

Ian @ September 7, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Will this federal election be about issues, or will it be about personalities? Will Stephen Harper convince Canadians that we are better off with a liar, a man who breaks every promise he makes, or will be simply just go along with the flow, because the other guys don’t seem any better? Will we accept his excuses for decimating our economy in such a short time, in order to backstop George Bush and his Corporate Masters, or will we have the guts to vote for someone else? Hell, will we rush to the polls or will be like our American Cousins, and sit on our fat asses, moaning & whining about politicians?

Anyone but Harper

Ian @ September 5, 2008 # One Comment

I’d vote for anyone but Stephen Harper, because I want a country that has some chance of not becoming the next State in the failed union of the United States. George Bush snaps his fingers, and only our Stevie jumps. Yet it seems people have been blinded by his supposed charm, but think about it. Our economy was the best, when he took over, now it is barely chugging along, and all because of Stephen Harper’s backstopping of the United States, because of his inability to have a real plan. Instead he does what George wants, and what his Corporate Masters dictate. Is this really what Canadians want?

Pre Election Ads, Already

Ian @ September 2, 2008 # No Comment Yet

To begin with, if he does call an election, he will be once again, breaking a campaign promise to the people of Canada, though he doesn’t see it that way. He is hoping to win a majority, based on lies, deceit, and misrepresentation. He has taken a strong economy and allowed it to become weak, and ineffective. He has tried to circumvent Election Laws, because he believe he and his fellow Conservatives are above any law, just as his mentors, the Republicans believe. Once more, Stephen Harper should be thrown out of office, for his deceit, for his betrayal of Canada, of Canadian Values, and Ethics.

Dsyfunctional

Ian @ August 15, 2008 # No Comment Yet

The more Stephen Harper whines, the more he needs to be defeated, his party thrown out of office, and Canada restored to being an Independent Nation. No more ass kissing to the United States, or to Corporate Interests. That is all Stephen Harper does, whine, kiss ass, and ruin a nation that had a good reputation. Time for this monster, this evil to be gone. Time to end the Americanization of Canada by defeating the immoral, corrupt Conservatives of Stephen Harper.

Tory Election Funding

Ian @ August 12, 2008 # No Comment Yet

So much for transparent government, ala Stephen Harper and his gang. The planned cheating is hard to believe, when you know he stood a decent chance of winning. This is the problem with bullies like Harper and Bush. They seem to think that they need to cheat, that their cause makes them above the law. Just like George Bush in the States, Harper Tories believe that they too are above the laws, and that they should never be held accountable. Instead of owning up, they attack, just as Bush and his Republicans did.

Typical Harper Government Response

Ian @ August 9, 2008 # No Comment Yet

The Harper Government shows once again, that it has only one goal. To protect the Corporate Interests and profit lines, at the expense of the average citizen. By refusing to step in, and deny the telecommunication giants the right to add charges for those who receive text messages, the Harper Government clearly shows where it stands on consumer protection. It makes a lot of noise of how its auction would bring about changes, how it would make things more competitive, and now we have two companies adding charges, almost simultaneously. So much for cheaper prices, right Stephen Harper?

John Baird Should Talk…

Ian @ July 6, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Canada’s Environment Minister thinks Liberal leader Dion needs to reign in the top Liberals, because of their remarks. What he really means is to CENSOR THEIR FREE SPEECH, just as Stephen Harper does for the Tories. While Garth Turner’s remarks are offensive, and ill advised, the fact that the man who is willing to grant Mining Companies the right to dump their toxic waste into our lakes, is the one doing the complaining, is just laughable.

Who is Screwing Who? Harper or Dion?

Ian @ June 22, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Stephen Harper isn’t interested in Canada going Green. After all there isn’t enough money in it for him, or his backers. You know, the Big Oil Lobby, the Mining Lobby, and the Auto Maker’s Lobby. After all jobs are being lost across the board, due to high fuel costs, but does that worry Stephen Harper? Course not, his party is raking in the cash, and once the mining companies begin dumping their toxic waste in the lakes, he’ll rake in even more. After all, going green for the Tories is about putting money in the election coffers, not in saving Jobs, saving our way of life, or in making life affordable.

American Influence In Canadian Sovereignty

Ian @ May 30, 2008 # One Comment

Like his Master George W. Bush, Stephen Harper is opposed to any outside the box solutions to anything. Harper’s government plans to appeal the court ruling, regarding the safe injection site in Vancouver, because it only saves one life, at least according to the slanted and fuzzy math of the Harper Conservatives. Wonder how much the Oil Industry paid for that study?

Resignation

Ian @ May 26, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Harper’s Foreign Affairs Minister has resigned.
While I have to admit, he wasn’t a favorite, least he did the right thing and tendered his resignation. I just don’t get it though, how can anyone leave classified documents laying around, at your girlfriends breakfast table?
There is no doubt it was a serious issue, and while the PM [...]

No Criminal Charges in Cadman Affair

Ian @ May 17, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Stephen Harper, true to his master George Bush, continues the attack philosophy rather than attempting to do the right thing. With the main witness, Chuck Cadman, deceased, did anyone expect the RCMP to come up with any solid evidence? Yet the doubts will remain, because the real accusation isn’t from the Liberals, but from Chuck Cadman’s own wife and daughter. Even Stephen Harper, on tape, admits there were discussions, but he won’t verify what kind they were. So naturally there is going to be suspicion, after all, truth and the Conservatives are a bit thin, just look at Brian Mulroney.

Gas Pumps Inaccurate, Figures

Ian @ May 13, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Increasing the fines, increasing the inspections of the pumps is a good beginning, but it must lead to regulation of the entire Oil and Gas Industry, if we are to curtail inflation, if we want safe consumer goods, and if we want to be able to afford to eat proper food. Anything less, puts our economy, our very national existence at risk, as the Oil & Gas Industry continue to rape the world, in its drive for more profits, and at our expense.

Failure to be Accountable

Ian @ May 4, 2008 # No Comment Yet

The Conservative Government of Stephen Harper continues to quietly display its arrogance, and its disregard for the Public Right to Know. The ending of the database that shows all requests for information, used by Members of Parliament, journalists, and the public, has been discontinued by the Harper Regime. In a blatant disregard for his own CAMPAIGN PROMISES, Stephen Harper is going about putting Government behind sealed doors, so the people know less, learn less, and can’t judge their elected representatives.

Of course, it should be expected. After all, this man has used threats, inuendo, and law suits, to try and prevent the Opposition or the People, from knowing the truth. He doesn’t care what he has to do, as long as his buddies are protected. As long as business can have an open door to drop off their little brown bags of cash, he is very happy. Even after Brian Mulroney admits to taking cash, even after it is proven that an insurance policy was offered to Chuck Cadmen, he maintains he has done nothing wrong. Now he is closing the door on finding out if he telling the truth, because we are to simply believe him, not the facts.

Fixing the Protection Agencies

Ian @ April 9, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Upgrading the Consumer Protection Agency is long overdue. The raising of the fines is a good first step, as is the hiring of new inspectors. However, the real test is going to be in seeing if this new agency will actually levy any fines. After all, there are fines that can be levied now, yet despite the record recalls, you sure aren’t hearing of any fines being imposed from this very Government. So yes, I am skeptical, but one has hope that maybe, just maybe, the Government will actually act in the interests of the people, instead of the corporate masters and contributors.

Politics of Hate

Ian @ April 4, 2008 # No Comment Yet

While in Opposition, to try and appease Gays, Stephen Harper fired Spencer for anti gay remarks, now that he is in power, he has a new standard for such people. He lets them apologize, and keep their jobs. After all, he doesn’t need to appease the GLBT community, he is in power now. How short of a memory he has, and let’s face it, his record of support for equal rights is at best, tepid. At least on this he is very transparent, his white sheet is showing.
