Alberta to Vote March 3

Ian @ February 4, 2008 # No Comment Yet

Canada’s richest province will go to the polls on the 3rd of March. It should be interesting to watch, given that the Tory stranglehold is not so secure these days. Specially under its new leader, and he is certainly no Ralph Klein or Peter Lougheed, so this could be very interesting. Be nice to see a shake up in Alberta, Stephen Harper’s current home town. Wonder if he’ll adjourn the House of Commons, so his band of renegades can join in the election, as he did for the Ontario Tories?

Aftermath

I think a lot will depend on what Harper and his Klansmen do in the coming months. Will they show their true colours or be able to mask it for a bit before the real Alliance party philosophy come out?

Let’s Make A Deal

If you desire Justice, then VOTE for the Liberals, NDP, or even the Bloc. Least with those parties you stand a chance. With Harper and his Klan you might as well learn to fend for yourself, after all unless you rich you won’t be able to afford Justice or Health Care.

The Past Doesn’t Count

I really don’t get it, if you want the job, want a person’s support surely you are willing to defend the policies you espouse? Surely you want people to know of any misconceptions and you can’t do that by not answering questions, by not defending policy statements or can you?

5 Days & Counting

Doesn’t being Canadian mean anything to us anymore? How can we simply consider any political party that has clearly stated it doesn’t value our social programs, or our human rights?

If It Ain’t Broke Why Change It?

I mean to change simply for change doesn’t make sense when that change means you place some of the most important things at risk, such as National Health, Education, Day Care, Economic Growth

Memory Loss

Ian @ January 13, 2006 # No Comment Yet

So when did our memory become so selective? When did we forget how horrible our trade deficits where simply because the Conservatives back then were too busy golfing with the American Presidents or off Fishing in Maine? Is that really what we want again?

Not With Standing…

Ian @ January 12, 2006 # No Comment Yet

Under both Chretien and Paul Martin the Liberals have refrained from using this clause even though it went against their own personal religious beliefs. That shows leadership and committment to the real values of Canada. Would Stephen Harper have the same restraint? NO! He has already said he wouldn’t.

Common Sense Really Has To Be Dead

Course Harper is planning to insure mandatory prison terms so that might take of the older children. After all many of them sell drugs to their friends… so maybe that is his daycare plan… the prison system.

Justice, West Wing, Harper, & Reality

Ian @ January 11, 2006 # No Comment Yet

Mandatory sentancing does not work, it is racist at best and counter productive. Is that really how we want to solve our problems? To toss people away and put them out of mind for 5 or 10 years?
