Pastor Hagee and Pastor Wright, Any Difference?

Election 2008 (USA)

John Hagee is one of those Religious Right types, who has a supposed potent following, least as far as the Conservative Movement is concerned, and he has come out in support of John McCain. Now that isn’t news, but then, neither was his rather stinging remarks about Catholics, least not as compared to the Pastor Wright debacle that Barack Obama was forced to deal with.

McCain, who has taken pains to gain the trust of the religious right, has rejected specific statements from Hagee — namely about the Catholic Church and blaming the sinful behavior of New Orleans residents for Hurricane Katrina — but would not denounce the pastor. Hagee apologized for the Katrina statements a couple weeks ago, saying it’s not his place to try to know the mind of God concerning the natural disaster. (source)

Now perhaps the White Biased Media can explain to me how that comment about Katrina is vastly different than the one by Pastor Wright about 9/11? Seriously, it is just as objectionable, and just as Pastor Wright apologized, so too has Hagee, but the difference here is that there isn’t day after day media coverage of the outrage over the remarks.

Could it be because Hagee is White, supporting a White candidate?

And no, this isn’t the only deplorable comment the man has made, and yet while the media does report it, it certainly doesn’t lead its news with it, or devote a good portion of time to it, unlike their reporting on the entire Pastor Wright mess. So to me, I have to say, this is definitely a racial issue. If Wright had been white, or was supporting Hilary Clinton instead of Barack Obama, would he have still received the same media attention, as he did?

Maybe it is time the Voters stopped letting the media pick their candidates for them? Because, that is exactly what is happening here. The predominately WHITE MEDIA, has made issues out of non issues, simply in order to make headlines, to highlight the racial issue, without actually saying it. They are deliberately finding these issues, while ignoring similar issues with WHITE PASTORS.

Granted, some of the things, some of explanations even, aren’t exactly helpful to Barack Obama, but the thing is, what does it matter? No one is voting for Hagee or Wright, but are choosing McCain or Obama. Yet somehow the media seems to place more importance on what Obama’s Ex-Minister said years ago, than what John Hagee is saying now.

Tell me again, how it isn’t racially motivated?
