Harper Conservatives Must Go

This entry is part 22 of 22 in the series democracy

We can debate the issue for years, about whose policies are best, whose policies are putting Canada on track for economic recovery, and all that, but bottom line is that we cannot put Civil & Human Rights as being Inconsequential.  The Government is the bastion to defend our DEMOCRACTIC RIGHTS, NOT TO HIDE THEM.

Stephen Harper & his Conservatives have a different view on Democracy. To them, it is about FOISTING their own narrow minded view on ALL CITIZENS, and in ignoring the truth, whenever possible.

Am I bitter?  Certainly am, because you know, while Canada winning Gold in Curling or in Hockey is nice, there are other achievements, that are monumental.  For example, setting aside religious views, to insure all citizens can access all benefits of citizenship.

After reading the report on CBC, about how our Immigration Minister has attempted to HIDE HISTORICAL TRUTHS due to his own narrow minded, bigoted view of  Gays, it infuriates me, that such a political party can even hold a single seat in Parliament.

While having won so many medals, the action by the Immigration Minister, to demote the achievements of Gay Rights in our Country, diminishes all those medals. YES, I said that, because you know, our accomplishments are more than just winning some brief glory on a sports field. The fact that Canada protected the rights of an unpopular minority, will triumph any Gold Medal won at any Sporting Event.

Think about it, because you know, the vast majority of people can barely skate, can barely ski or curl or figure skate or any of those things. Yet we all can marry the person we love, and not be worried about being thrown in jail, or executed, as Gay Citizens of Nigeria are facing.

We can all worship God in any way we want, unlike those in Iran who must worship according to the ruling tyrants. In China religion is tolerated, to some point, and yet here, we can follow any form of religion we wish, and now that has been subjected to being inconsequential, thanks to Stephen Harper and his party of Homophobes, of RACISTS.

For those who may indeed believe he is right, that allowing same sex marriages has ruined this country, then look around.  Gay Marriagesdon’t have a divorce rate of 60%, but all you heterosexuals do, and more than that, not one single Church has been forced to consecrate a Gay Marriage, despite the frothing of people like Stephen Harper, Vic Toews, and our Immigration Twat Jason Kenney, that passing same sex marriage would do just that.

Once more, we have been told one thing, to force ordinary people to HATE their neighbour, who is simply different. This is a land of TOLERANCES, and it is in our HISTORY, that shows why we are different than our arrogant neighbours to the south. AND NOW, JUST LIKE GEORGE BUSH WE ARE SHOVING ASIDE OUR HISTORICAL ACHIEVEMENTS IN ORDER TO APPEASE A NARROW GROUP OF RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS WHO NEED TO BE PROPERLY POTTY TRAINED.

People forget that the UN Charter on Human Rights was a Canadian Achievement, and that Same Sex Marriage is another example of what it truly means to be a Canadian. It is about standing up for those who are not the majority. It is about protecting the French Culture who is in a minority, and it is about redressing the wrongs done in the name of religion, in regards to the Residential Schools.

All of that is not mentioned, because Mr. Harper does not want Immigrants who don’t think like him.  He is about money, about protecting his interests, his special friends, not about protecting the average Canadian. He uses fear, attack, to divide this nation, not unite it.

STEPHEN HARPER & HIS PARTY MUST BE DEFEATED, TO KEEP CANADA FREE.

Here’s An Idea

This entry is part 9 of 9 in the series accountability

Been thinking about the Telemarketing debacle.  And maybe, just maybe I have an idea on how we might get OUR GOVERNMENT to stop playing footsies, and actually start to get them working on ending this bullshit.

First off, it does require a bit of effort on our part. I mean we do have to do our share, you know. So first off, is to get the name and phone number of your Member of Parliametn.  Write it down, and keep it handy, by your telephone.

Second, when the call comes from those annoying pests, don’t hang up but play along with them. Hit that ‘number 1′ button to talk to an agent or associate or whatever they call themselves.

Then make out like you can’t really hear them too well, but are interested. Suggest that they call you on your other line, and give them the phone number of your MP’s office, along with the MP’s name.

Think if they get all the calls we get, that maybe somehow they will find a way to have legislation in place, to BLOCK THE CALLERS?

An Interesting Solution

This entry is part 13 of 14 in the series Convince Me

You know, the more I read the news, the more angry I get. I mean if you listen to Ignatieff, Layton, May, or even our beloved Stevie Boy, you have to wonder if ANY OF THEM have a single clue, about Canada, never mind about Governing the Nation. If you listen to the pundits, who all seem to have an axe to grind, or a torch to bear, we are either doing fine, or in the dumpster.  No one seems to have a real clue, as to what it means to be a LEADER.

Our Political Leadersseem to be bent on spending time telling us how bad the other leaders are, whether it is Ignatieff, May, or Layton, they all tell us how bad Stevie is, and of course, our Stevie is always trying to OUT DO THEM on telling us how bad they are.

Kind of makes you wonder, do any of them believe in their own policies, or is it, they simply don’t have any?

You know, I am not stupid, and I kind of have an idea on what is happening out there. I know what policies the current regime has, but I would like to know, what the other’s plan to do that is different

Thank You Mr. Harper

This entry is part 5 of 5 in the series leadership

How many of you have experienced the repeated calls by Credit Card Services or some such operation, explaining how you can lower your credit card rate?

I have been getting those calls very frequently, and when you ask the morons to unsubscribe you, they hang up,  or pretend they are getting someone to help you, and the line goes dead. So finally I called Telus, to complain, and lol and behold, there is nothing they can do.

Why?

Seems that Mr. Harper took over management of the no call list, and that there is no longer ANY LEGISLATION that allows the telecommunication companies to BLOCK CROSS BORDER TELE MARKETERS.  Nor is there anything in the USA to do the same, thanks to, yep, George W. Bush.

Kind of makes you all warm and fuzzy to see how these so called CONSERVATIVES have ignored the needs of the people that elect them, in order to curry favor with the big corporations, including the shills, scammers, thieves, and outright scum.

Just one more example of how the Harper Government doesn’t give a shit about the people in this country, unless they have lots of money, can contribute lots of money, or deliver votes through their sermons on Sunday.

Harper Opens Bridge

This entry is part 4 of 5 in the series leadership

Hey, our Prime Minister actually opened something, instead of closing it down. You, know, like Parliament?  It is unbelievable, but he’s actually had a business meeting, in preparation for the upcoming budget, with the head of Ganong Chocolates. Isn’t that nice, we now get our economic plans from a chocolate maker.

The group, which included J.D. Irving Ltd. president Jim Irving, Ganong Bros. president David Ganong and Greg Thompson, minister of veterans affairs and MP for New Brunswick Southwest, discussed a range of issues, including the deficit, as well as economic stimulus and infrastructure spending. ( source – CBC News )

Frankly I do not understand politics anymore. Sure, it was never perfect, but it had character, it had some interest, excitement even. Today it is more about being mean, about hiding the realities of life, of failing to stand up for what is right. I mean there shouldn’t be any question, that USA should use of our waters for transport of hazardous materials AND that is not going to happen. Instead Harper side steps the issue, as usual.  THAT ISN’T BEING A LEADER.

People are out of work, the Loonie is soaring, menaing higher prices and business is still reaping profits, on the backs of the poor and middle class. And Stephen Harper is on holidays, taking parliament with him. IF Harper stays in office much longer, we won’t have a Middle Class anymore. We will truly become a 3rd World Country, as Hilary Clinton called us, as George Bush treated us.

IS THIS THE TYPE OF LEADERSHIP WE WANT FOR CANADA?

A MAN WHO RUNS FROM PARLIAMENT, BUT EMBRACES THE CORPORATE WORLD AT ANY COST?
