The whole mess with the F-35s makes one wonder, just how can Stephen Harper promise any tax breaks for the future, when he can’t do simple math today?
Not like the US General Accounting Office is exactly steller in its math, but when they can’t explain where the $75 Million a piece price tag comes from, you kind of have to wonder where did our Stevie come up with it?
Then too, when the secretary to McKay, MP Hawn says we are buying them at their peak time of production, when they are cheaper, but again, the GAO of the US says a delivery date of 2016 is more at the beginning of production ( the most expensive period ) it really makes you wonder.
Also, if the US estimates a cost of $133 Million per plane, even at their peak production, will the planes really drop by nearly 50%? I mean come on, the price quoted by Harper is $58 Million per plane.
That is quite a drop, isn’t it? Kind of like a K Mart Blue LIght Special, but somehow I don’t see F-35s being that heavily discounted. Do You?
Planes aside, if they can’t get it right for a few planes, how can they promise tax breaks to a balanced budget in 2015/2016 when these planes start to arrive, and payment is due?
Harper is supposed to be an Economist. Back in 2008 he didn’t think our Economy would get hit with the world depression. He went on holidays actually, adjourning Parliament, then came back to announce a huge stimulus package.
Now we have had a few years of his deficit spending, without any accountability, so perhaps that is why he is so insistent we need to return him to power. If we don’t, we might actually find out just how much money he spent, where it was really spent, and somehow, I think we won’t be happy campers.
Sort of like when Mulroney got turfed out of office. His finance Minister told us the deficit then, was about $26 Billion, and when an Independent Audit was done, it was more like $60 Billion.
Why do I have this sinking feeling, that once more we are going to be dealing with Conservative Fuzzy Math?
Just how many secret lakes has Mr Harper had built? I mean, he’s had his hand in everything, and when you can’t even tell us how much a plane is gonna cost, what else haven’t you told us?
Can we say… Anyone But Harper
