Lawyers do it everytime in a Court room. They say something, or mention something, that is not allowed, and the Judge has to admonish them, then instruct the Jury to disregard the question, or comment.  Like it has been said, and you are charged with coming to a verdict, but that’s okay, you are capable of forgetting that comment. No Jurist will take that into account, when it helps give an other motive, or explanation for something, or casts doubt on an answer or explanation.  RIGHT?

NOT A CHANCE BUCKY.

And in Politics, that is the same thing. So do I really believe that Stephen Harper didn’t know that it was Gordon Smith who made the comment, and not Michael Ignatieff?  NO.  For me, it is just one more example of how devious Mr. Harper is, in trying to use his attack philosophy to discredit those who oppose him. And while at it, that comment makes perfect sense, and is BANG ON THE MONEY.

But Ignatieff never made the comments, former Canadian diplomat Gordon Smith did. Smith, director of the Centre for Global Studies at the University of Victoria, has said Canada needs to take a leadership role or risk losing importance. ( CBC News )

Now how in hell, is that somehow unpatriotic, or the wrong thing to say? It is telling the Government, that instead of kissing American Ass, it should be taking a leadership role, or risk being thought of, as nothing but a stooge. Now, to me that isn’t harming our world prestige one bit, but showing the world, that not everyone in Canada is stupid and enamored by the United States.

The Harper Government has shown, it is incapable of taking a leadership role, and all that is being said here, is that it needs to stop playing politics, stop catering to outside influences, and START GOVERNING.

So why does Mr. Harper object to that?

Frankly, I also would like to know, why Mr. Ignatieff isn’t slamming the Harper Government for its lack of leadership.  Is HE afraid of being further slandered and attacked by the Conservative War Machine? IF SO, then maybe he should step aside and let a REAL MAN LEAD THE LIBERALS, IF THERE ARE ANY LEFT.

And just as in the case of the latest documents and tapes being left in news agencies, it is a subordinate who takes the fall. Not our precious Stevie Boy, but an underling. Then too, can anyone truly believe that Stevie Boy didn’t know it was Gordon Smith who made the comment? I DOUBT THAT! 

He saw an opportunity to put out a lie, that would attack Mr. Ignatieff, would lend credability to his recent attack ads, and even if he apologizes, the seed would have been planted, and watered for growth. AND ALL THIS FROM A MAN WHO REFUSED TO SAY HE LOVED CANADA, WHO REFUSED TO WEAR A CANADIAN HOCKEY JERSEY FOR FEAR OF SHOWING SUPPORT FOR THE CANADIAN TEM IN THE STANLEY CUP FINAL.
