Interesting Recall & Warning
Posted by IanNov 18
Up until Stephen Harper took office, the number of recalls in Canada were big news, because they were Rare. That is, until he had a chance to weaken our Food Safety Agencies, and make some reall good trade deals with places like Viet Name, Korea, Communist China, and of course, the United States. After all, a lot of the crap coming up here, gets a free pass if it enters from the USA, instead of its originating country.
First up, is the recall of non dairy creamers. Supposedly this recall is an ‘allergy alert’ for those who are dairy intolerant or something. Not like they actually TELL YOU the real reason of the recall, just that you shouldn’t be using them.

It is rather disheartening to see how the Corporate World is so uncaring about the consumers that make them their money. I mean really, you have to wonder what they are thinking, by purchasing cheap shoddy goods and ingredients, instead of spending the extra few pennies, and insuring that what they put on our shelves is safe.
Then we have the fake emails & actual letters, that pretends to be from Revenue Canada, asking people to submit their banking details to them, in order to process a claim. Like how stupid can we be?
But the CRA — which does not send e-mails to taxpayers — has issued a public warning: “This letter is not from the CRA and Canadians should not provide their personal information to the sender,” says a tax alert on the Canada Revenue Agency website.
“The letter claims that there is ‘insufficient information’ for the individual’s tax return and that in order to receive any ‘claims,’ they will have to update their records. The letter attaches a form specifically requesting the individual’s personal information in writing, via fax or e-mail, including information on bank accounts and passports.” (source – CBC News #2)
Now I can sort of see falling for that, if its a regular post delivery, but an email? Somehow that just wouldn’t seem right to me, but then again, maybe its just my skepticism showing through. Course I do wonder, when did we change the names of so many of our agencies? CRA? I mean what was wrong with Revenue Canada?
Like let’s face it, a snappy title isn’t going to make anyone not fear getting a notice from that particular department, but I wonder, how much did it cost us, to change all the stationary, and stuff?
Then too, it amazes me at how stupid some people can be. A rhetorical question, because somewhere in the USA, think it was Michigan, some lady is out over 400 Grand, thanks to falling for a Nigerian Scam. You know, the one that promises you millions, from some deceased relative or such, but what gets me is, how can anyone who has amassed nearly a quarter of a million dollars, be so gullible, or is the right word Greedy?
