Can We Trust Any Candidate?
It really doesn’t seem to matter what country you are in, or what political party you support, it seems that Big Business & Big Unions are in control of them all. You have to wonder, when did this happen? When did THE PEOPLE lose control over their Government? I mean they have ‘TAKE BACK THE NIGHT‘ campaigns all over, but I wonder, maybe we shouldn’t be holding vigils for TAKING BACK OUR GOVERNMENTS.
How many actually have complete trust in their Government?
With it being a huge election year in the States, one possibly in Canada later on, and who knows, maybe in the UK as well, we should be asking ourselves how we can take charge of our own destiny, of our own Government? After all, while it is the MONEY FROM CORPORATIONS/UNIONS that seems to fuel the campaigns, the advertising, IT IS STILL US WHO ELECT THEM.
While it is easy to blame the Giant Companies, the Uncaring Unions, isn’t it really OUR OWN DAMN FAULT?
How many of US, have bothered to take time out of our busy schedules to sit down, and write out a letter of complaint or to inform our respective elected officials of where we stand on particular issues, such as say the Khadr Issue in Canada, the Mortgage Issue in the States? Have we written emails to our MP or Senator to complain about how they are dealing with the High Price of Gas?
For example, Stephane Dion has come up with a plan on protecting the Environment, but have any of US bothered to get a copy of it, and read it? Have we provide the Liberals with our thoughts on the plan, without ranting? Have we informed Stephen Harper of our opinion on his Environment Plan?
Oops, forgot, Stephen Harper doesn’t have an environmental plan.
Point being, have we written to ask him for one? Have we contacted the Green Party, the NDP, about their positions? Have WE EDUCATED OURSELVES ON THE POLICIES THAT MATTER TO US?
