The VP Sweepstakes

All this talk about why Obama should take Clinton on as his running mate is becoming more like some soap opera. I mean you have all of her operatives running around sending petitions, making phone calls, to various groups, to try and get them to push Obama into taking Hilary Clinton on, but really, are they thinking of the bigger picture?
Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, held a narrow 2 point lead over his Republican counterpart among registered voters, 47 percent to 45 percent, according to CNN’s average of four recent national polls. Nearly 10 percent said they were undecided[1. source - CNN News].
Then there is the question, does she want it? I kind of think she does, despite her denials today, but given how she has acted, it would seem plausible that she would like nothing more than to take the job, and to force him to take her on. Call me nasty, but I really think Hilary Clinton is more conniving than even Karl Rove. She has more excuses than George Bush, and is a real pro at twisting the truth.
Fact is, shouldn’t the Vice President nominee be someone who can bring something to the table? Now Obama may not have won some of those swing states, a fact Hilary is still pointing out, but the simple fact is, SHE DIDN’T WIN THE CORE STATES, HE DID.
By that I mean he won the states a Democrat should win, and he came pretty close in two of the swing states. She lost more states than he won, so what does she bring to the table? Claiming to have won the four swing states really isn’t an argument of fact. She won Michigan & Florida when she was the only one campaigning there, so would the result have been the same if Obama had been able to properly campaign there?
Then there is the simple logic, that if your CORE doesn’t support you, how can you be a benefit? She brings a supposed 18 Million voters, but does she? As I mentioned before, many who crossed over to Vote Democrat in the Primaries, and Voted for Her, are Die Hard Republicans. They tried to skew the results, and who knows how many of those 18 Million are indeed, Core Republicans. If they are a few million, again, what good is she on his ticket?
You know, being a bit whimsical here, but what about Caroline Kennedy?
Talk about a heart tugging combination. Obama with his oratory, and the memory of JFK standing beside him. Plus you would have a Black Man and a Woman running, now talk about MAKING HISTORY.
