The Republican Nominee for President is trying to keep the Presidential race clean, free of tawdry attack ads, but unfortunately he has forgotten which party he is running for. The Republican Party, which takes great delight in running its attack campaigns, is not about to stop it, simply because Grandfather John asks them too. In fact they have said so, which makes you wonder, why in the hell would anyone want to even be a Republican?

McCain, in an e-mail to Daves, said he will draw sharp contrasts with Democrats. “But we need not engage in political tactics that only seek to divide the American people.”

North Carolina GOP spokesman Brent Woodcox said the ad will begin running statewide on Monday, a week before the state’s crucial May 6 primary. (source)

Mind you, the Democrats under Clinton are closing the gap in the nastiness department, which really then makes one wonder why they should support any of the two major political parties. It seems they are both so busy trying to smear the other, that the business of Governing has been left to the appointed few, like oh, Ms Nord of CPSC, or of Michael Chertoff of Homeland Security.

You listen to the FBI Director talk about how he pulled agents from interrogating terrorist suspects, for fear of a legal backlash, but he didn’t out the torture being conducted by the CIA and Justice Department. Instead he just send a memo, and left it at that. Instead of trying to figure out how to deal with anywhere from 12 to 35 million Illegal Immigrants, the NC GOP thinks it is important to debate whether Obama is a patriot or not. Course the Millions about to lose their homes isn’t as important an issue, now is it?

Let me see if I have this right. If you go to Church, and the Preacher says nasty things about your Country, exercising his Freedom of Speech, his Freedom of Religion, it suddenly becomes an issue of Patriotism & Judgment? So what, any time a Preacher says something bad about America, like Cardinal Mahoney in Los Angeles has done, those who stay in his church are UNPATRIOTIC or EXHIBIT POOR JUDGMENT?

See, that is what the GOP is saying, by running such an ad. Course, I suppose it only applies, IF YOU ARE BLACK.
