Not Conservative Enough?

Listening to the whining by the Conservative Christian Right of the Republican Party, you have to wonder, would Jesus be conservative enough for them? Somehow I DOUBT IT.
This whole nonsense of threatening to form their own party, to run a true conservative as a Third Party Alternative, is nothing but silly whining, in a veiled attempt to get their own way. It is the cries that a child makes, when they don’t get every toy they want, or the attention they demand. It is petty, silly, and hasn’t a damn thing to do with so called Values or Morals.
It is about POWER.
He declined to elaborate, but held out hope that Mike Huckabee might mount an improbable comeback, or that another “good conservative, Godly, Christian pro-life” GOP candidate somehow emerge to supplant McCain. The Arizona lawmaker has opposed abortion during his four terms in the Senate. (source)
You have to wonder, just what does it take for these people to support someone? I mean look at George Bush, their hero and darling, and at how he has managed things, as one they called a ‘True Conservative‘. Like a war that shouldn’t have been, a deficit that is rising faster than their blood pressure when talking about Hilary Clinton, an Economy facing a Depression, and they can’t see how their policies have caused it?
Then too, George Bush is the Grand Master behind the so called failed Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, that got them so steamed, and upset with John McCain as well. Yet you sure don’t hear them razzing their golden boy, George, just John McCain.
I can understand how we all want to support a Political Party that represents our values, but they seem so adamant about it being THEIR WAY or NOTHING. John McCain is showing that he has an appeal to moderates, without having to COMPROMISE HIS CORE BELIEFS. Surely that should count, but to these poorly potty trained souls, it apparently isn’t.
I also think that they fail to understand a simple truth. Not everyone can believe in what they do, or not in the same way, yet still believe in many of the principles. There has to be room for disagreement, without throwing temper tantrums, or making threats. Negotiation is the key to getting along, and the more these Religious Zealots cry out, scream, and threaten, the less effective their voice will be. It is simply counter productive.
Their lessening of power within the Republican Party is, in my view, a good thing. And a move to a third party, would also be good. I’d love to see some 3rd Party candidates get elected, in the Senate, House, as it would improve the viability of Democracy. A wider spectrum of views need to be heard, and not a narrow defined one.
It is why I think Canada is so great. I mean we have the far right, left, and middle pretty well covered. Their is the NDP who claims the mantle of representing the working person, the current Conservatives, the Liberals who claim the middle ground, and the Green Party that is a blend between all three. And they WIN SEATS, which means that those opposing views are always heard, and in many cases acted on.
After all our National Health Policy was a direct result of the NDP, a party that has not yet formed a National Government, but was heard and forced a change. There aren’t a sixth of Canadians devoid of Health Care, as is the case in the United States (based on 50 Million with no health coverage in USA). So diversity does work, having more than two political parties DOES WORK.
So let the Christian Right form their own party, throw their support behind some Neo Nazi Party, because ALL VOICES DO NEED TO BE HEARD, just not always LISTENED TO.
