Mitt Romney has withdrawn from the campaign, which leaves Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee to try and derail John McCain from being the Republican Nominee. In an effort to bridge the gap, to unite the party, John McCain is appealing to the Conservative Wing of the Party to support him. Now, I suppose that is what one should do, but uh, WHY?

John McCain hasn’t WON the nomination yet, though the odds of defeating him now are pretty slim, barely mathematically possible, so why give these LOSERS a voice? The Conservatives are what has gotten the Republican Party into the mess it is in today. It is their ZEAL that gave the World George W. Bush, not once, BUT TWICE. Surely it is time that their influence within the Republican Party was terminated?

Besides, John McCain is where he is at now, WITHOUT THEM. That should say something, and yet it seems it isn’t. Which begs the question, why suck up to them now?

Critics say he’s too liberal to carry his party’s nomination. Conservatives point to him breaking with the party on immigration, opposing the Bush tax cuts and co-sponsoring legislation on campaign finance reform. (source)

I can agree with the opposition to his stand on Immigration, though I also think he showed great courage in facing that, and in admiting his mistake in it. And to a good degree, he is right about the simple fact you can’t DEPORT 12 to 20 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. I do agree totally with his opposition to permanent CORPORATE TAX CUTS, and his stand supporting CAMPAIGN REFORM.

I mean come on, so far the candidates have spent about a half a billion dollars, between Republican & Democrats. That is obscene when you consider it isn’t for election, but for the CHANCE TO RUN. People are losing their homes, and candidates are spending money faster than the Federal Deficit is Rising.

Fact is, John McCain has done better than his detractors thought possible. Maybe he should not worry so much about the Dobsons or Tony Perkins, but instead look to those who have stood beside him, and given him the exalted status he now holds? Perhaps, he should do what he has done throughout his political career, which was to go his own way.

He really only got into trouble, when he hitched his star to George W. Bush. Now he wants to hitch up to another fading star, the Conservative Wing, that represents Big Money, Hatred, Racism, & Corruption. Plain Talk Senator McCain, do what you do best, ignore the hate mongers and continue to campaign the way that has gotten you to the top. That is what the PEOPLE are supporting, and as much as the Conservative Nut Jobs might think they are important, fact is they aren’t. It is the people who count, you know it, you have seen it, so ignore the bully boys.

Be John McCain.
