The Non Profit, Non Partisan group ‘Democracy Watch‘ which rated the Conservatives Number 1 prior to the election of Stephen Harper, for Accountability. Guess they got it wrong as they now give the same Harper Tories a D- Rating and also claim that what has been done, is A STEP BACKWARDS.

Kind of makes you wonder doesn’t it? I mean just how much TALK the Harper Regime have done about ETHICS and ACCOUNTABILITY, then to find out that in implementing the changes they promised, they not only haven’t done it, but have left out key elements which have actually WEAKENED THE LAWS.

You know, in the lead up to the current round of hearings on the whole Mulroney / Schreiber garbage, Stephen Harper has been touting his Regime’s ACCOUNTABILITY, and even went so far as to try and THREATEN THE LIBERALS before bowing to pressure to call the hearings. Now the proof is out, that not only is he full of BLUFF, but his so called STANDING UP FOR CANADA is just mere words.

In reading this report, you really have to shake your head. No protection for whistle blowers, no ethics rules, and Stephen Harper has the unmitigated gall to call the Liberals Dishonest? I mean okay, the Sponsorship Scandal sucked, but they didn’t GUT THE RULES. Makes me wonder, if this is nothing but a deliberate attempt to PREVENT BEING CALLED TO ACCOUNT.

In other words, just what is Stephen Harper Hiding that he needed to GUT THE ETHICS RULES?
