There is a lot in the news about people upset with the values being taught in schools (see commentary ) and being promoted in government laws. Pope Intolerance ( see comment ) has made it a cornerstone actually of his Papalcy and so I wonder, what are these much touted Traditional Family Values?

Is it that people shouldn’t lie?

Well that pretty well lets out every single Politician in the news. I mean the big defender for Good Christian Values like George Bush and Stephen Harper have clearly lied to the people. I mean Bush with his WMD in Iraq that has directly led to the death of over 2700 US Citizens, not to mention the thousands of dead Iraqis. So is that the type of Traditional Family Values the Pope and his minions preach for?

How about covering up crimes like Pedophilia?

Guess we all know about the current Mark Foley crap happening. So I suppose the value of sticking with your compatriots is more important than outing a pedophile? Great Traditional Family Value that one. Or how about the need to stay in power if even that means letting a Pedophile have his way with innocent underage kids. Hey, nothing like Traditional Family Values now is there?

Obviously that isn’t what is meant by Traditional Family Values but yet that is exactly what these followers do. I mean which organization is the most known for abusing children? Is it the House of Congress or the Roman Catholic Church?

Anyone remember the old adage about people in glass houses not throwing stones?

Seems to me that Intolerance is not one of those traditional values Pope Intolerance refers to. Yet with each of his speeches, whether its about Islam ( see comment ) or about nations that grant equality to ALL of its citizens, this Pope is showing not traditional values, but is instead fostering Hatred and Racism.

Seems to me that such rhetoric is just that. Nothing but a dangerous Bigot attempting to justify his racism and force it onto the rest. Unfortunately it seems that many out there are willing to accept such racism because to them, they are buying into the bullshit. And bullshit it is.

Pope Benedict spoke in support of Christian marriage and traditional family values Sunday, urging couples to resist modern cultural currents inspired by hedonism. ( see story )

To think that GOD wants us to hate, to deny people who disagree compassion is to me, a far greater sin than whether or not I sleep with another man or not. To begin with, it isn’t a choice, but that aside, the idea or notion that GOD wants us to hate is just, well Anti GOD in my mind.

Homosexuality is nothing new. It has been around for as long as mankind has been, so this isn’t some new fad, new trend, but what is new is that some out there are finally able to understand that it isn’t a choice, that is something natural. Right or wrong morally is an issue for one’s individual conscience, but more than that, to foster hatred for it is in my mind, just Racism, and perhaps worse, a real violation of what Traditional Family Values is all about.

Love, Compassion, Charity, those are the precepts I was raised on, not Hatred, Racism, Bigotry, Intolerance.
