So I guess we is really bad, as a nation. I mean the Pope thinks we have betrayed the values of his religion and are in defiance of God, and I wonder, maybe he should change his name from Pope Benedict to Pope Intolerant? After all, isn’t tolerance supposed to be part of religion? Isn’t Love Thy Neighbour also part of the religious teachings? Yet despite the basic theme of Christianity, this Pope feels it necessary to condemn those who practise the essence of their religion instead of promoting hatred, as he does.

“In the name of tolerance, your country has had to endure the folly of the redefinition of spouse,” the Pope told a group of bishops from Ontario. “In the name of freedom of choice, it is confronted with the daily destruction of unborn children.” ( full CBC article )

It amazes me that here we are in the year 2006 and the Pope is up in arms because this nation had the guts and nerve to do what was right and not what was politically expedient. There is no doubt in my mind that God must be shedding several tears over what some say in his name, such as this Pope, this ex-Nazi. Though frankly I wonder how much emphasis should be placed on the word ‘ex’ in his case.

GOD is the one who instilled in Man the perception of FREEDOM and yet here is his Chief Minister calling our Nation failing GOD by pandering to special interests and public polls.

He lamented that Catholic politicians had yielded to “ephemeral social trends and the spurious demands of opinion polls.” ( full CBC article )

Social Trends? Where has this guy lived for the last 50 years or so? Homosexuality is not something new and has been documented throughout history even from way back when. Only recently though has homosexuality been afforded the same rights or acceptance that other sexual behaviour has. This is nothing new, and not some social trend. Shit, you would think this guy believes the horseshit that Being Gay is some choice, when it is Natural. For those who do believe in GOD, then you have to also believe that GOD CREATED US, just as he Created every other living thing. To call this a social trend is a direct insult to GOD and all who truly do believe in HIM.

Public Opinion Polls? Good luck, I mean if the Government listened solely to public opinion polls, then this country would be as bad as the United States is today on Civil Rights. Hell if public opinion polls had mattered, the entire Civil Rights movement would have never existed, given how people in the Southern US feel about minorities of any kind, let alone Gays. African Americans would still be forced to ride at the back of the bus, and even today, some still try to do that as evident by the recent incident in Lousianna. So I think someone needs to wake this old doddering fool up and let him know, that he is not speaking for GOD as portrayed in the Bible. GOD preaches LOVE not HATE and yet here we are, in the year 2006 where GOD’s POPE is pushing HATRED, INTOLERANCE, and BIGOTRY instead of the real doctrine of the Church.

SHAME ON YOU POPE BENEDICT!

If this isn’t part of some devious political nonsense by Harper and Bush then I don’t know what is. We all know Harper and his Klansmen are trying to reverse the law, despite being not just a minority government, but also with a minority support, and yet here we go again. I don’t get these so called religious zealots who can’t see beyond their own hatred and bigotry, that people who are different is all part of GOD’s plan, and the sooner they accept that, then maybe the sooner we can all get on with enjoying the world HE created for us.

Although the motion could open the door to further discussion by MPs on same-sex marriage, it will not directly challenge the existing legislation. ( CBC article )

Nothing like having the Pope make Harper’s agenda clear now is it? The timing is certainly too co-incidental and from what little I have seen of this Pope, or heard from him, I have yet to see him demonstrate the precepts of his religion. Tolerance being one, but more importantly, Compassion seems to be non existent in a Pope Benedict run Church. Sad really, because that is supposedly Christ’s teachings, yet here is the Pope spouting hatred and racism, all in an effort to keep the billions of money they rake in yearly. Fine for him to talk about the poor, when on one hand he takes the money from those who can ill afford to give it, (just like Warren Jeffs) and then spends it on upkeep for a Palace in the heart of Rome.

HOW MUCH HYPOCRISY CAN ONE STAND?

Changing the definition of ‘Spouse’? Give me a fucking break. Spouse simply means partner, it is not a gender defining term, and while ‘wife’ ‘husband’ are, they are also sexist. I suppose that is the next thing Pope Intolernat will condemn us for, for giving woman the right to vote.

Maybe it is me, but are we going backwards in time? Sure seems to be that way.

What with Harper and his agenda to make us Mediocre and Bush trying to get us all killed in a war against Islam, the world certainly doesn’t look much different politically than it did in the Dark Ages. We all know how that turned out, and here is praying to the Real GOD that it doesn’t happen again.

While at it, what the hell ever happened to separation of Church and State? Or is it like that Harris lady in Florida  claims, that there is no separation of Church and State. Course she doesn’t think there should be, as Bush also thinks. Guess we know what Harper thinks too given how he now has Pope Intolerant pushing Harper’s own narrow minded bigotted political agenda.
