Was reading two articles over on 365Gay and it struck me that somehow or other, the two articles are related. The one article is about how Georgia Tech is trying to settle a lawsuit about its Hate Policy with an Anti-Gay group, while the other is about a court hearing about a gay bashing in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
See without a tough Hate Law or Policy then I think the attacks on Gays like in Santa Fe will not just continue, but rise as well. I mean it is like open season on Gays and other minorities these days, and it is scary.
As stated at Gay Persuasions, “Words do hurt, but they also incite other actions that aren’t easy to eradicate. Bigotry comes to mind, and Racism is another”
It is this notion that words aren’t as bad as saying having the shit kicked out of you or worse, is what perhaps may lead people to turn a blind eye to Hate Laws. I know many call it an infringement on their right to Free Speech, but what about the right to pursue happiness and to live free of fear? Does that count or is that the price people are expected to pay in order for some demon to spew their hatred and incite others to commit the more heinous acts?
Like today Hezbollah is out making lists of aid needed for its people, so that suddenly makes them heroes? I mean they started this latest Middle East bullshit by kidnapping two soldiers out of Israel, and murdering several others. So how in the fuck does that make them Heroes? Because they give out food stamps?
It is like this gay bashing. I mean hell, how much hate does it take before people wake up and realize, if you spew the garbage out, eventually someone is going to act on it, and I mean think about it. They allege the guy touched one of the bashers ass? That is grounds to kidnap him, hold him and beat him constantly over hours upon hours?
Seriously, the United States perhaps needs a group shrink session on anger management. That is absurd and yet they are attempting to excuse their horrid actions by blaming the victim.
And this is because there simply isn’t enough solid Anti Hate polcies in place in schools and universities. This is why Georgia Tech should bite the bullet and go to court. Let it all hang out and end this nonsense but then that isn’t going to happen.
People wonder how could a nation like Germany have elected a man like Hitler and then do what they did as a nation, yet if we look around at today’s America, maybe you can get a glimmer of how it came to be. The failure of the Law to uphold the safety of its people allowed for a thug and bully to seize power. The lust for blood made a civilized nation turn into mass murderers, and unless strong Hate Laws come into being, the United States may be the next nation people will ask those questions about.
It is scary.
