One of gay porn's pioneers, William Higgins' fascination with handsome young studs in pursuit of other handsome young studs developed into a series of movies with this "California look" in the 1970s. The 33 films in this collection are mainly from that late-'70s to mid-'80s period when he virtually was Catalina. Like every creative person, he produced some misses among the hits, but the hits are so overwhelming they pretty much defined the era: Pacific Coast Highway, The Young & the Hung, Sailor in the Wild, Big Guns, These Bases Are Loaded, Brother Load, Pizza Boy--He Delivers have achieved iconic status.

Although the Catalina photo archives are in excellent condition a lot can happen over a 25-year period, which is why three or four Higgins titles are missing from this special edition. We have also included a few titles that bear another director's name, but are definitely William Higgins Productions and are cosely associated with him.
